Three ways in, one short setup, and the tablet reports from then on. Android 14 or newer. No new hardware: the tablet is the sensor.
Grizzly IQ runs on Android tablets with Android 14 or newer. It needs an internet connection to enroll (Wi-Fi or cellular) and uses little data afterwards: small summaries on the schedule your fleet chooses, from every 15 minutes to every 2 hours.
You will need your fleet’s enrollment code. It is in the console under Settings › Tablet enrollment, next to a QR code that carries the same thing. One code serves the whole fleet; the account owner can change it at any time, which only affects tablets enrolling after that.
There are three ways in. Pick the one that matches how you manage tablets today.
Grizzly IQ reads standard Android managed configuration (the app-configuration screen your MDM shows for a managed app). Four keys, all optional:
Set join_code and every tablet joins the fleet at first launch; add serial_number and each one is recognised for life. If your MDM cannot supply the serial, leave it blank: the console lets you label tablets by CSV afterwards, and a driver can type the tag or serial at setup.
Adding tablets later is the same motion: add them to the MDM, assign the app and its configuration, and they appear in the console on their own.
A tablet shows up on the Devices page within a minute of connecting, and its first health read lands with its first check-in. From then on it samples its own condition about every 15 minutes while it is on and sends summaries on your fleet’s schedule.
Name tablets in the console, or put names, serials, asset tags and sites on the whole fleet at once from Devices › Import / roster. Import the list of tablets you own and the console shows which ones have not checked in yet.
A reinstall needs nothing from anyone: the tablet comes back as the same record. After a factory reset, enroll it again with the same asset tag or serial and it is the same record too, name and history included. If that tablet checked in only minutes earlier, the app asks the driver to confirm it is the same tablet before it takes the record over.
A replacement tablet wearing the old sticker takes the label; the old record is retired with its history kept. To take a tablet out of the fleet, open it in the console and choose Remove; it rejoins only by the enrollment code, seat permitting.
